About the job
Responsibilities:
- Build fully functional WordPress websites based on business requirements and design specs
- PHP and HTML development outside of WordPress for landing pages, microsites
- Must have experience with UI, UX, WordPress
- Must be aware of design and color theories
- Convert mockups into web content using WordPress front-end-coding, building reusable code for future use
- Creating the website architecture.
- Designing and managing the website back-end including database and server integration.
- Generating WordPress themes and plugins.
- Conducting website performance tests.
- Troubleshooting content issues.
- Monitoring the performance of the live website.
- Builds, designs, and maintains all websites.
- Regulates exposure to business stakeholders and executive management as well as other authorities
- Design, writes, and edits website content.
- Understands UI, cross-browser compatibility, and general web functions and standards.
- Creates solutions for identified problems or bugs.
- Communicates with colleagues, managers, and stakeholders daily.
- Executes assignments with the use of web applications, scripts, and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Word press, JQuery and APIs.
- Develops and validates test routines to ensure the quality of the external and internal interface.
- Plans and delivers software platforms and products across multiple organisational units.
- Maintains a professional understanding of web development by tracking trends and participating in study groups.
- Accomplishes company goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests.
- Meeting with clients to discuss website design and function.
- Generating WordPress themes and plugins.
- Conducting website performance tests.
- Troubleshooting content issues.
- Conducting WordPress training with the client.
- Monitoring the performance of the live website.
Job Specifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in web design and development
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Excellent English Communication and time management skills
- Must have strong portfolio and a “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
- Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
- Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
- Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
- Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
Strong understanding of PHP back-end development.
